Yes, everyone is right. Admission to the Pantheon is free. My family rented an apartment overlooking the Pantheon - fabulous! It was a great location; we walked to almost everything - Vatican, Spanish Steps, Villa Borghese, Piazza Navona (market), Piazza Venezia, Via del Corso, etc.

Enjoy!
References :
To enter the Pantheon is free.

I would recommend to go in the afternoon, and if possible on a sunny day...this way you would be lucky to stand inside one of the most impressive spaces made by men, and see the effect of sunlight change the interior dome .

Looking at the portico and the columns made of a single piece of granite, and to think they've been standing up for over 2000 years sure is amazing.

The building is still used as a Catholic Church and you might be lucky to experience a celebration there.

You can download a podcast to take with you with interesting info by following this link:

http://www.bestofrome.eu/ipodguides.html

And learn a bit of it before visiting it here:

mssinmymind is right. The Pantheon is free. It's also one of my favorite places. While you're in that area, Santa Maria Sopra Minerva is also worth going into.
